Who We Are - Microfinance

For the past ten years (1999-2011) the Fund for the Encouragement of Self Reliance (FESR) has been creating opportunities for the residents of Hue City, Vietnam, as a non-profit, micro-loan institution providing seed capital to low income and impoverished people. This year we are thrilled to be able to share our story and successes with interested friends and supporters around the world.

Community Development

In addition to microfinance, FESR partners with organizations, such as East Meets West, Room to Read, and the Asian Institute of Technology in Thailand, to facilitate interaction with the local government and collaborate on financing efforts to promote health and education.

Beneficiaries of FESR partnerships include children, boat people, and other overlooked communities.
